New York City Football Club (NYCFC)
PS 242 has been chosen as a pilot school for a 10 week soccer program that will be presented by licensed coaches from our professional Major League Soccer (MLS) team, New York City Football Club.
A message from Alex Valles, the Program manager of Community Development at New York City Football Club…
“We’re committed to our mission of providing free programming to the NYC Communities. As you already know, NYC lacks safe and accessible spaces for young people to play and be active. CITC, together with our community partners, is dedicated to changing that. We will do this to ensure youth in every New York City community has access to free CITC soccer programming and a safe place to play, learn, and lead.

We are excited about starting winter soccer sessions in Queens! Our licensed coaches will make sure participants learn technical and tactical skills through engaging activities which ultimately help kids become more confident. We will also incorporate our Healthy Hat Trick curriculum which focuses on using soccer as a way of helping children become more physically active and encourage them to live a healthy/active lifestyle!”
